It has been used in the golf course industry for decades.
Topdressing has been slow to gain acceptance for residential lawn care.
Topdressing’s benefits are so numerous, we try to incorporate it as the foundation for every lawn care program we offer.
As a soil amendment, topdressing can improve soil biology by adding organic matter and the beneficial microorganisms of compost. Soil structure and drainage can be modified by topdressing and doing so regularly, helps provide a thick, lush lawn. Topdressing reduces lawn stresses, helps keep thatch to a minimum, and acts as a long-term natural fertilizer. The most beneficial practice lawn care has to offer is by adding organic matter to your lawn, topdressing with compost does just that. If you asked what the most effective process in developing a lush, thick lawn was to a group of lawn care professionals, they would give an answer that involved some type of compost topdressing.

Topdressing with our organic compost can be applied anytime but works exceptionally well together with aeration and over-seeding. The topdressing helps with holding moisture in for the new seedlings and with seed germination. Add a thin layer of 1/4 inch of organic compost in the fall to your aeration and over-seeding for optimum results.
Topdressing is a labor-intensive service as compared to fertilizing; therefore, the cost is higher but not prohibitive by any means–and the benefits are so numerous we think you should seriously consider having it done on your lawn!
